In general terms, the Mental Health Team aim to provide a swift response whenever possible to your expressed need and we are able to draw on a wide range of interventions and treatment options in order to achieve this goal. All treatment will be made available based on objective assessment of clinical need.
We have a variety of staff to help you including GP’s experienced in mental health, mental health nurses, a clinical support co-ordinator who can also help with the more practical problems (i.e. housing problems, benefits, finding ways to spend your time) and a counsellor. We also recognise that it is important to look after your physical needs and we work closely with Dr’s, nurses, midwifes, a district nurse and health visitors who can help with this.
When appropriate, we will refer on to other agencies including the Community, Mental Health Team, Crisis Team, in-patient services,
